Kylian Mbappé Becomes First Player to Win 2 Golden Boot.
Some records are meant to be broken. Others are created by players who redefine what is possible. Kylian Mbappé Makes Football History With Second World Cup Golden Boot Triumph
Kylian Mbappé has made history after winning the FIFA World Cup Golden Boot for the second time. He became the first player ever to achieve the feat.
The French superstar claimed the award after a stunning performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He scored 10 goals in eight matches to finish as the tournament’s top scorer.
The Real Madrid forward beat Argentina captain Lionel Messi in the race for the Golden Boot. The achievement adds to his first award at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where he scored eight goals.
Mbappé also joined an elite group of players by reaching double figures in a single World Cup tournament. He became the first man to do so since Gerd Müller scored 10 goals for West Germany in 1970.
The 27-year-old also broke another major record. He became the men’s FIFA World Cup all-time top scorer with 22 goals, moving one ahead of Messi.
Mbappé reached the milestone during France’s third-place match against England. He scored twice in the game, although France suffered a 6-4 defeat.
After the match, Mbappé reflected on his incredible tournament.
“When you score that many goals in the World Cup, it certainly takes you to a whole new level,” he said.
From winning the World Cup as a teenager in 2018 to becoming its leading goalscorer, Mbappé continues to build a legendary career.
His second Golden Boot confirms his place among football’s greatest players. At only 27, he still has more chapters to write.
