A young model’s life, Ibrahim Mbaya, ended in tragedy after an allegation of iPhone theft spiraled into a fatal mob attack in Plateau State, leaving many Nigerians demanding justice.
Ibrahim Mbaya, popularly known as Ibee, died after a violent assault in the Ring Road area of Jos North Local Government Area on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
Ibee, a chef and contestant in the Mr. and Miss Glam Nigeria 2026 competition, denied stealing the iPhone when people accused him.
Instead of reporting the matter to the police, a group allegedly attacked him with various weapons.
The assault left him with critical injuries.
Doctors treated him at a hospital in Jos, but he later died from his injuries.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and renewed calls for an end to mob justice across Nigeria.
Many Nigerians have urged people to hand suspects over to law enforcement agencies instead of taking the law into their own hands.
