UK rapper and internet personality Yung Filly has cleared a major legal hurdle after an Australian jury found him not guilty of several serious charges linked to an alleged 2024 incident.
The 30-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, faced allegations involving a 20-year-old woman after he performed at a nightclub in Hillarys, Perth. Prosecutors accused him of sexual offences inside his hotel room following the show.
A jury in Western Australia found Barrientos not guilty of three counts of sexual penetration without consent. The court also cleared him of one count of assault occasioning bodily harm and a strangulation charge.
However, the jury convicted him on two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm. The panel could not reach a decision on three additional rape charges, leaving prosecutors to decide whether they will seek another trial on those counts.
Barrientos, who denied all allegations, reportedly broke down in tears as the court announced the verdicts.
The rapper will remain on bail until August 21. The court will then consider the next steps, including possible sentencing arrangements and decisions on the unresolved charges.
The case has drawn significant attention due to Barrientos’ popularity as both a musician and online personality, with millions of followers across social media platforms.
