Tensions in the Middle East continue to rise as Iran issues a fresh warning to the United States ahead of a key meeting between President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Iran’s army says the conflict could spread across the region if the United States launches fresh attacks on the Islamic Republic.
Army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia delivered the warning during an interview with Iranian state television on Sunday, July 26. He said any new US airstrikes would widen the conflict.
“If the Americans once again fall for the Zionists’ deception and continue the war, especially through air strikes, the conflict will expand geographically,” Akraminia said.
He also claimed the conflict has already spread beyond Iran’s borders. According to him, recent developments involving Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi movement show that the crisis now affects the Bab al-Mandab Strait, a key shipping route.
Furthermore, Akraminia said Iran can now operate across a wider area. He claimed that includes locations near US military bases in Jordan and countries along the Persian Gulf.
He also argued that the United States now faces a difficult security situation in the Middle East. As a result, he believes Washington is searching for a new strategy.
“We are prepared for every possible scenario,” he added.
The warning comes just days before Benjamin Netanyahu travels to Washington for talks with President Donald Trump. The two leaders are expected to meet at the White House on Tuesday.
Reports suggest Trump and Netanyahu no longer agree on every aspect of the conflict. While some officials support more military action, others want to revive diplomatic efforts.
The latest warning from Tehran has raised fresh concerns about regional stability. It also highlights the risk that any new military action could draw more countries into the conflict.
