A document circulating online has sparked widespread attention after claiming that Florida’s Palm Beach International Airport will be renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport, with the reported change set to take effect on July 9, 2026.

The memo, which is allegedly directed to airline staff, claims that the airport’s name change follows recently passed legislation. It further states that the airport’s official International Air Transport Association (IATA) code will also be changed from PBI to DJT, with the new code expected to become active on August 18, 2026.
According to the document, airport operational systems and applications, including QIK, ACE, and Falcon, would transition to the new airport code from the stated date. The memo also reportedly advises airline personnel that some platforms, manuals, and operational materials may continue to reference the airport by its former name and code during the transition period.
It adds that users should continue using the existing PBI code where the new DJT code has not yet been integrated into aviation systems.
The reported development has attracted public interest as it comes amid wider claims that President Donald Trump has pursued efforts to rename prominent institutions, landmarks, and locations during his second term in office.
However, the claims contained in the memo have not been independently verified. As of the time of reporting, neither Palm Beach International Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), nor the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released an official statement confirming the reported name change or the proposed alteration of the airport’s identification code.
Aviation experts note that any official airport renaming process and IATA code change would typically require formal approval, coordination among aviation bodies, and public announcements from relevant authorities.
The lack of confirmation has raised questions about the authenticity of the circulating document, with some observers waiting for further clarification from airport officials and government agencies.
Palm Beach International Airport, located in West Palm Beach, Florida, currently operates under the name and code PBI, which remains its recognised aviation designation pending any official announcement.
Until confirmation is provided by the appropriate authorities, the reported renaming of the airport as President Donald J. Trump International Airport remains an unverified claim.
