Lagos has made global entertainment history after Guinness World Records officially recognised Dapper Live’s groundbreaking concert for featuring the largest orchestra ever assembled for an Afrobeats performance.
Guinness World Records confirmed on Tuesday that Dapper Live & Artists now holds the record for the largest orchestra for an Afrobeats concert, following a spectacular live performance that brought together 85 musicians in an orchestral celebration of the globally acclaimed music genre.
The record-breaking performance took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Lagos, in December 2025, where an orchestra, choir, dancers, and lead vocalist performed in harmony under the direction of a conductor.
Announcing the achievement on its official social media platforms, Guinness World Records stated:
“Largest orchestra for an Afrobeats concert, 85 musicians by Dapper Live & Artists.”
The organisation explained that the event showcased how Afrobeats could seamlessly blend with orchestral music, creating a unique performance that highlighted the genre’s musical depth and global appeal.
The concert, titled “Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience,” was held on December 16, 2025, and featured performances by several Nigerian music stars, including King Saheed Osupa, KS1 Malaika, T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee, and Dwillsharmony.
Before receiving official confirmation from Guinness World Records, the organisers had announced that the record attempt had successfully passed the organisation’s review and verification process.
They described the production as an ambitious fusion of Afrobeats, Fuji, and orchestral music, designed to push creative boundaries while showcasing the versatility and global influence of Nigerian music.
Dapper Live & Artists is associated with Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, whose vision for the concert has now earned international recognition and placed Lagos firmly in the Guinness World Records history books.
