Rita Edochie Warns Judy Austin: “You Will Contend With Karma”
The long-running feud between actresses Rita Edochie and Judy Austin has taken a new turn, with the dispute now heading to court.
Rita Edochie has confirmed that she will appear at the hearing of the defamation case filed against her by her fellow actress and co-wife, Judy Austin.
Judy recently escalated the matter beyond social media when she filed a lawsuit against Rita at the Abuja High Court. She later shared copies of the court documents online, revealing some of the demands contained in the case.
Among her requests, Judy is seeking N1 billion in damages over the alleged defamatory statements made against her by Rita.
Following the development, Rita has made it clear that she is not backing away from the legal battle.
In a recent response, the veteran actress confirmed that she would be in court on July 29 when the matter comes up for hearing.
The lawsuit comes after months of public exchanges between the two women, with Rita frequently making strong comments about Judy’s relationship with actor Yul Edochie.
Judy’s marriage to Yul has remained a subject of intense public discussion, particularly because Rita is related to the actor and has openly criticized the relationship.
However, Rita has now responded to those who questioned why she continues to speak about Judy and the circumstances surrounding her marriage.
Addressing her critics, Rita acknowledged that Judy is not the first woman to become involved with a married man.
But she went a step further, insisting that she believes Judy will eventually have to deal with the consequences of her choices.
Rita said Judy may not be the first person to take another woman’s husband, but she believes she will be the first to “contend with Karma.”
Her remarks have added another layer to the already heated dispute, which has now moved beyond online arguments and into the courtroom.
With the N1 billion claim before the Abuja High Court, attention will now turn to the upcoming hearing as both actresses prepare to present their sides of the story.
