Oyebanji Hails Kolawole at 70, Praises His Political Maturity
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has marked the 70th birthday of former PDP governorship candidate Bisi Kolawole by praising his record in public service and his approach to politics.
Oyebanji described the former lawmaker and commissioner as a respected Ekiti indigene whose contributions have made an impact on the state.
The governor conveyed his birthday message in a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode.
According to Oyebanji, Kolawole has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to democratic principles, good governance and the interests of Ekiti State.
He noted that Kolawole’s public service career spans both the legislature and executive arm of government.
Kolawole represented Efon Constituency in the Ekiti State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2011 before serving as Commissioner for Environment from 2015 to 2018.
Oyebanji also recalled Kolawole’s participation in the 2022 governorship election, describing his campaign as vibrant, issue-driven and commendable.
The governor said the former PDP candidate demonstrated maturity and patriotism throughout the electoral contest.
He particularly praised Kolawole for congratulating him after the election and opting to support the administration instead of taking the result to the tribunal.
Oyebanji described that decision as an example of political maturity and statesmanship, urging other politicians to emulate Kolawole’s approach.
Beyond his previous roles in Ekiti, the governor noted that Kolawole has remained active on the national political scene.
He pointed to Kolawole’s emergence as Deputy National Secretary of the PDP as evidence of the confidence placed in his leadership abilities and political experience.
Oyebanji prayed for the celebrant to enjoy good health, longevity and fulfilment as he continues his service to Ekiti State, Nigeria and humanity.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Ekiti State, I celebrate our dear Hon. Kolawole and wish him good health and strength as he continues to serve our state and country with greater distinction,” the governor said.
