Opeyemi Famakin Warns Nigerians Over Cheap Victoria’s Secret
Food critic Opeyemi Famakin has raised concerns over the sale of unusually cheap Victoria’s Secret body mists in Nigeria.
Famakin urged Nigerians to be careful when buying the popular fragrance products from local vendors.
In a social media post, he questioned how a body mist that reportedly sells for more than ₦40,000 could appear on the Nigerian market for around ₦4,000.
“Don’t buy any Victoria’s Secret body mist in Nigeria. Something of ₦40k+ being sold for ₦4k in Nigeria. You are investing in cancer,” he wrote.
Famakin suggested that some of the products being sold at such low prices may not be genuine.
He also warned consumers not to assume that a higher price automatically proves that a product is authentic.
According to him, some sellers could raise their prices simply to make questionable products appear genuine.
Famakin therefore advised Nigerians to buy the body mists only from trusted and verified retailers.
He also explained that his product recommendations come with a responsibility to highlight items he believes consumers should avoid.
The food critic said he would continue sharing products he recommends while also warning his followers about products that may pose potential health concerns.
His comments have sparked discussion among consumers, particularly those who regularly purchase fragrances and beauty products from Nigerian vendors.
However, his claims about potential health risks remain allegations and do not establish that every Victoria’s Secret body mist sold in Nigeria is counterfeit or harmful.
