Odemwingie Set for NFF Revelations, Ajibade Hints
Peter Osaze Odemwingie appears ready to revisit some of the most contentious chapters of his Nigerian football career, with Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade teasing his upcoming podcast appearance.
The former Super Eagles striker is the guest on episode 14 of the podcast, which promises to examine his experiences with the Nigeria Football Federation, disputes surrounding his career and what he describes as years of silence.
The promotional artwork carries the striking headline, “The NFF. The Feuds. The Silence,” with the episode scheduled to arrive soon on YouTube, Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
Ajibade added to the anticipation with a post describing Odemwingie’s story as one that took a decade to unfold.
Odemwingie represented Nigeria 65 times and scored 38 Premier League goals during his club career. After stepping away from football, he pursued golf and eventually became a PGA professional.
Ajibade highlighted that unusual career transition while pointing to the challenges Odemwingie experienced along the way.
She also indicated that the forthcoming conversation would address the issues directly, suggesting that the former striker would provide an unfiltered account of his experiences.
Relations between the NFF and Nigerian footballers have occasionally come under scrutiny, with disagreements involving player welfare, coaching decisions, bonuses and the management of the national teams.
Odemwingie was also involved in several public disputes during his time with the Super Eagles, making his perspective on his relationship with the football authorities particularly notable.
However, the full details of what he intends to reveal will only become clear when the episode is released.
Meanwhile, Ajibade continued her club duties on Tuesday as Paris Saint-Germain Women faced Real Madrid Women in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
The Nigerian captain featured alongside fellow Super Falcons player Jennifer Echegini as PSG fought back to secure a 1-1 draw at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium.
PSG’s next league assignment comes on October 1, when they welcome Oud-Heverlee Leuven.
