A touching moment unfolded at the Adeleke family residence in Ede after Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke secured a second term in office.
The governor prostrated before his elder brother, billionaire businessman Dr. Deji Adeleke, following his re-election victory.
The emotional gesture happened on Monday night after Adeleke received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The certificate formally confirmed his victory in the August 15 governorship election.
Governor Adeleke used the moment to appreciate his older brother for his support during the election campaign.
He acknowledged Deji Adeleke’s financial, moral and strategic contributions to his successful re-election bid.
In response, the billionaire raised his hands and prayed for the governor.
He also prayed for Adeleke’s deputy and the success of the administration’s second-term plans.
The family gathering came shortly after the governor officially received confirmation of his victory.
Adeleke’s re-election means he will continue to lead Osun State for another four years.
