Nollywood powerhouse Funke Akindele is preparing to take audiences on another emotional journey with her latest feature film, The Four: No One Fights Alone.
The award-winning filmmaker, actress and producer announced the movie following another impressive run at the box office. The Four will hit cinemas globally on December 11, 2026.
FilmOne Entertainment will distribute the film, while Akindele’s Funke Akindele Network (FAAN TV) serves as the production company.
The new drama explores the powerful bonds that can carry people through their darkest moments. It centres on friendship, motherhood, resilience, sacrifice and the strength of women.
Set across the picturesque Odu Community and the vibrant city, the story follows Esosa and three fiercely loyal women. Together, they fight to protect the future of a young man they deeply care about.
Their mission, however, comes at a heavy cost. The women must confront challenges that test their courage, faith and loyalty. Their journey forces them to discover just how far love and friendship can take them.
Beyond its emotional storyline, The Four also celebrates Nigeria’s rich cultural identity. Music, fashion, language and tradition all play an important role in bringing the story to life.
The film promises breathtaking visuals while delivering a story built around hope, sacrifice and the power of standing together when everything seems lost.
A star-studded Nollywood cast will bring the story to life. The lineup includes Funke Akindele, Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan and Wunmi Toriola.
Award-winning singer Waje also joins the cast alongside Afrobeats star Shoday. Entertainment personalities Samuel Banks, Kolapo Omotosho and Ayomide Iwasokun also feature in the film.
For Akindele, The Four represents another major chapter in an already remarkable filmmaking career.
She has delivered several box-office successes, including Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Battle on Buka Street, A Tribe Called Judah, Everybody Loves Jenifa and Behind the Scenes.
Her consistent success has helped reshape the Nigerian box office and strengthen Nollywood’s presence on the global stage.
