The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has launched a fierce attack on President Bola Tinubu.
Baba-Ahmed described Tinubu’s administration as the most damaging in Nigeria’s history.
He also issued a strong warning to northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking during a broadcast interview, the PRP chairman claimed the North would face serious consequences if Tinubu wins another term.
“The North will be finished if Tinubu wins in 2027. He’s the worst President ever in the history of Nigeria.”
Baba-Ahmed blamed what he called a growing disconnect between the government and ordinary Nigerians.
According to him, many citizens are struggling with hardship while the government remains disconnected from their daily experiences.
He also pointed to a recent meeting between Tinubu and the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The bishops reportedly raised concerns about hunger, economic hardship and insecurity across the country.
Baba-Ahmed said the religious leaders gave the president a clear picture of what Nigerians are experiencing.
He claimed, however, that Tinubu rejected their assessment.
“They went to him, politely said to him, Mr President, the people are not happy with you. They are hungry. They are insecure. There are a lot of problems running in the country.”
The PRP chairman questioned the president’s response to those concerns.
He alleged that Tinubu dismissed the bishops’ claims rather than acknowledging the difficulties facing Nigerians.
“For every issue the bishops raised, the President said, no, you are wrong. I am right.”
Baba-Ahmed said the exchange reflected what he considers a worrying gap between the government and the people.
His comments come as political parties and leaders begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
