Mbappé Rejects Ronaldo’s Plan to Play Until 41
Kylian Mbappé does not expect to still be playing at the highest level when he reaches his early 40s, unlike Cristiano Ronaldo.
The France captain addressed the possibility of extending his career to 41 while discussing Ronaldo’s remarkable longevity.
Mbappé was asked about matching the Portuguese superstar’s ability to remain at the top of the game for so many years.
His response came with a smile.
“France would never let me play until I’m 41!” Mbappé said, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Real Madrid forward then turned his attention to Ronaldo’s remarkable physical condition.
Mbappé praised the former Real Madrid star for maintaining his fitness and mental strength throughout an unusually long career.
He noted that Ronaldo’s example shows what can be achieved when a player remains in good physical and mental condition.
Ronaldo has continued competing at the highest level well into his 40s, setting himself apart from the typical career timeline for elite footballers.
Mbappé, however, does not expect to follow the same route.
Asked about his own plans, the Frenchman made his position clear.
“In my case, I don’t see it happening,” he told BILD.
The comments highlight the different approaches of the two superstars to career longevity.
While Ronaldo continues to extend his playing career, Mbappé appears to have no intention of setting a similar target for himself.
For now, the 27-year-old remains focused on the present as he continues his career at Real Madrid and leads France at international level.
