Angelina Jolie’s Daughter Zahara Drops Pitt From Her Name
Zahara Jolie has officially taken her father Brad Pitt’s surname out of her legal name, marking another name change within the Hollywood actor’s family.
A Los Angeles judge approved the 21-year-old’s petition on September 28, 2026, allowing her to legally change her name from Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Marley Jolie.
Court records cited by PEOPLE and other media outlets showed that the petition faced no objections before the judge approved it.
Zahara submitted the request earlier this year. Despite the legal process, she had already been identifying herself publicly as Zahara Marley Jolie.
She used the name during her graduation from Spelman College in May, where she celebrated completing her studies.
Her legal change also follows similar moves by some of her siblings.
Zahara is now the third of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s six children to legally remove “Pitt” from their names. Her siblings Maddox and Shiloh previously made similar changes.
Meanwhile, Vivienne has also filed a petition seeking to change her name to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. A court is expected to consider her request at a hearing scheduled for November 2.
Pitt and Jolie have six children together — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox. The youngest two are twins.
The former couple first met while working on the 2005 movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith. They began dating that year and later married in 2014.
Their relationship ended with a separation in 2016, followed by years of legal proceedings over their divorce and family matters.
The divorce was eventually finalized in December 2024.
Zahara’s approved petition adds to a series of developments involving the former couple and their children since their separation.
