Social media has been buzzing after former President Olusegun Obasanjo made a surprise appearance on Isbae U’s Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast.
The unexpected guest appearance came on Saturday, September 19, 2026, when the veteran Nigerian leader sat down with the comedian and content creator for a conversation that immediately caught viewers off guard.
Known for his playful and often provocative interview style, Isbae U wasted no time bringing his trademark humour into the room.
Instead of introducing Obasanjo in the conventional way, the host delivered a tongue-in-cheek introduction that referenced the former president’s years in office.
According to Isbae U, Obasanjo was once his employee, claiming that he paid his salary, covered his rent at Aso Rock and even provided his food between 1999 and 2007.
The comedian then asked the audience to applaud “our president” before adding another joke, telling Obasanjo that he should have requested permission before taking some water.
The unusual introduction immediately captured the playful atmosphere of the episode and showed that the conversation would be far removed from the traditional setting Nigerians might expect when seeing a former president.
After a clip from the episode surfaced online, it quickly attracted attention from social media users.
Many viewers were surprised to see Obasanjo featured on a show associated with Nigeria’s fast-growing digital entertainment scene. Others focused on Isbae U’s fearless jokes and the unusual dynamic between the two men.
The appearance also provided plenty of material for online banter, with users sharing humorous reactions to the former president’s decision to appear on the podcast.
For Isbae U, landing Obasanjo as a guest represents another memorable moment for Curiosity Made Me Ask, a show that has built attention around its unconventional interviews and unpredictable conversations.
With clips from the episode continuing to circulate, Nigerians are now looking forward to seeing what else unfolded during the much-talked-about encounter.
